Special Education Teacher and Psychology Assistant
Ray of Hope

Shelden Vance is a dedicated Special Education Teacher and Psychology Assistant at Ray of Hope, where he supports children with diverse learning and developmental needs. He has designed and implemented tailored entry assessments and learning programmes for children with special needs, drawing on individual diagnoses to inform his approach.

With a focus on promoting independence, Shelden develops teaching plans and sensory-based activities that build on each child’s physical, learning and emotional strengths. He continuously monitors student progress, adapting strategies to suit evolving needs, and identifies specialised tools and equipment to support sensory regulation and motor development. His work reflects a compassionate and evidence-based commitment to helping every child reach their fullest potential.
