A Malaysian Professional Geologist (P.Geol.) with over four decades of distinguished experience across academia, government, and public outreach. His career encompasses a wide spectrum of geoscience, including geological mapping, engineering geology, mineral economics, and geopark development.

Mr. Askury began his career with the Geological Survey of Malaysia during the peak of the Kinta Valley tin mining industry, fostering a lifelong expertise in granite-related tin mineralization. Over 24 years with the national geological service, he held key roles including State Director and Chief Editor, acquiring an unparalleled understanding of Malaysia’s regional geology.

Following his distinguished government service, he dedicated himself to education as a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, teaching subjects like Structural Geology and Geomechanics. Now in his retirement, he continues his passion for knowledge sharing through his popular YouTube channel, Pakcu Bumi, and serves as the Technical Advisor for Geopark Lembah Kinta.
